(Advanced) Customizing Your Pepperdata Installation

After you configure your Hadoop cluster to use Pepperdata, and configure all the Pepperdata components that you want to use, you can customize your Pepperdata installation by setting its properties. For example, if you’ve customized your environment to use non-standard file locations, you can configure Pepperdata to work within your constraints.

  • You can set the Pepperdata properties in any Hadoop configuration file used by the cluster’s central and worker nodes by adding the properties to the Pepperdata site file, pepperdata-site.xml; for details, see Pepperdata Configuration File and Location.

  • You can override the settings in the Hadoop configuration files for Resource Manager and PepAgent related properties by adding them to the Pepperdata site file, pepperdata-site.xml; for details, see Pepperdata Configuration File and Location.

  • You can customize some Pepperdata behavior by adding overrides to the Pepperdata configuration file, etc/pepperdata/pepperdata-config.sh. See the subtopics in this section as well as the Administrator’s Guide.
